Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Entertainment (AIIDE-08) Announces 2008 Conference Dates and Location
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Menlo Park, CA– May 7, 2008. Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Entertainment Conference (AIIDE) organizers announced the date and location of this year's event. The conference will take place on October 22-24, 2008, on the campus of Stanford University, CA, USA, in the heart of Silicon Valley. The conference is hosted by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).
AIIDE is the premier conference on artificial intelligence in computer games and entertainment. It brings together technical leaders of game development and research, to examine how artificial intelligence can improve games and entertainment, exchange information about new developments in the field, and share experiences in deploying AI in commercial products.
"It's an exciting time for entertainment AI," said Michael Mateas, conference chair and noted researcher at the University of California at Santa Cruz. "We've seen many recent games succeed thanks to smart gameplay, interesting interactive characters, andlifelike worlds. AI is at the core of bringing all these elements to life. And AIIDE is where many of these new AI approaches are first presented, and where existing techniques are explored in depth."
AIIDE '08 is the fourth annual conference on game AI and interactive entertainment. This year's event features invited talks from notable researchers and industry professionals, a full technical program with two paper tracks, and a lively poster/demonstration session.
Speaker list and conference program will be announced in the summer of 2008. More information about AIIDE '08 can be found at:
