Booming Casual Games Business Gets Own Trade Title
10th B2B launch from Intent Media supports $2bn global casual games market.Thursday May 1st: Intent Media, publisher of the leading games industry print and online brands MCV and Develop, has today launched a new trade website focused purely on video games' fastest growing sector.
CasualGaming.biz will aid everyone selling, developing and distributing casual games for PC, console, mobile and TV formats. It will also provide information for those looking to enter the sector, estimated to be worth some $2.25bn*.
The site will feature breaking news throughout the working day, regular interviews, features, analysis, statistics and more.
There will also be a twice-weekly email newsletter sent to over 18,000 named professionals working in the interactive entertainment space.
Site highlights include a Marketplace area for companies to showcase their latest Flash games to prospective publishers; a Directory; a Jobs Board and Community Blog for the entire casual games community.
Develop editor Michael French has been appointed executive editor of the site with MCVUK.com editor Tim Ingham acting as launch editor.
"We have created CasualGaming.biz to serve a long-established, yet under-exposed games sector that everyone from retail to the biggest global publishers are investing in right now," said executive editor Michael French.
A partnership has also been tied with the Seattle-based Casual Games Association.
