New course covers 'Best Practices for Codeline Management and Scripting'

Perforce Software has enhanced its range of training courses available, adding a two-day advanced class called 'Perforce Best Practices for Codeline Management and Scripting'.

The course is geared towards experienced SCM administrators, and uses best practices from Perforce VP Laura Wingerd's book Practical Perforce to cover topics such as organising and managing codelines, auditing metadata, scripting and using review daemons to send e-mail.

“As large, globally distributed teams with thousands of users comprise a greater percentage of our customers, rigorous codeline management is more essential than ever to producing good software,” said Tony Smith, European technical services manager of Perforce Software.

“Our goal is for attendees to take their SCM management skills to the next level and return to work with specific techniques they’ll be able to implement immediately.”

The first public workshop will take place on November 20th to 21st, with private on-site and custom training also available. For more information, check out the Perforce website.
