Issue 88 sent to subscribers and also available online for free

The October issue of Develop, number 88, has been sent to subscribers and is now available to read online - for free - either as a PDF here (registration required) or via the Flash-based Issuu.

This month we head to Japan for our cover story, visiting Tokyo-based iNiS - developer of new Xbox 360 singing game Lips to find out more about why Microsoft picked this relatively obscure team to make its headline Christmas game for massmarket players. We also grill the team about the Japanese development scene - something also analysed in our event report from CEDEC.

Other features include a look at Sega's European games development strategy with MD Gary Dunn and also a postmortem by Disney's Black Rock looking at the production methodologies adopted for its first game, the recently-released Pure.

Scaleform - GFX

We also take a look at the state of play for development when it comes to face/body graphics, including imaging software and motion capture and then we talk to Dolby about its new in-game voice software.

Meanwhile, our Alpha section offers the usual opinion and analysis pieces - including an IP profile of Sports Interactive's Championship Manager - while our Build section features the usual mix of technology news and interviews.

You can get your hands on the latest issue now, for free, either as a PDF or via Flash-based Issuu.
