Futuremark making new title using DX graphics benchmark

Graphics specialist Futuremark has confirmed that it will use its 3DMark benchmark technology to build a new 3D action game - and is using Nvidia's PhysX for in-game physics.

Shattered Horizon was officially unveiled last week at the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany, the collaboration with Nvidia has been confirmed at this week's Nvidia NVISION event in San Jose.

The game is multiplayer first-person shooter where players fight in zero gravity.

“Shattered Horizon has a real space setting that offers gameplay, tactics, and freedom of movement that cannot be found in any other shooter,” said Jukka Mäkinen, head of Futuremark Games Studio.

“PhysX is essential in helping our game designers create a realistic and fun zero-gravity combat experience.”
