Games development's top dogs named in seven days’ time

Excitement building for 2008 Develop Industry Excellence Awards, which take place next week
In just one week's time over 500 games development professionals will convene in Brighton to find out who has scooped the big prizes at the 2008 Develop Industry Excellence Awards.
Every year, the awards honour the creative, technical and commercial smarts of European games developers.
The 2008 event - the sixth Develop Awards event, taking place on July 30th - is no different.
A number of studios are in the running for key awards, including SCEE Cambridge, Ninja Theory, Frontier Developments, Crytek, Rockstar North, Kuju's Doublesix and Zoe Mode, SCEE London Studio, Criterion Games, Splash Damage and Rebellion.
Abertay University, NaturalMotion, Epic Games, Richard Jacques, AudioMotion, Universally Speaking, Nintendo, LucasArts, Sega and others are also in the running for awards acknowledging successes in games development technology and publishing.
Geomerics, Codemasters, Hansoft, Autodesk, Amiqus and Universally Speaking are sponsors of the event.
The Develop Industry Excellence Awards take place at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel alongside the Develop conference. And there’s still time for you to make arrangements to attend.
