Bing Gordon joins investment company Kleiner Perkins but will remain as 'CCO Emeritus'

EA chief creative officer and company co-founder William 'Bing' Gordon is to leave the company to join investment firm Kleiner Perkins.

Gordon will keep some ties with Electronic Arts as its 'Chief Creative Officer Emeritus', and will "return to the company to lead periodic workshops on innovation with EA Studio leaders," Gamasutra reports.

Kleiner Perkins recently funded the iFund, a project set to provide financial payouts to those creating innovative iPhone apps.

and Gordon co-founded EA in 1982, and his new employer said in a statement, was "integral to the creation of more than 20 different award-winning game franchises, including Madden NFL, The SimsNeed for Speed". During his tenure he served the company in a variety of roles including marketing executive VP, studios executive VP, and entertainment production senior VP.
