Michael Starkenburg moves from consultant to full-time role
Facial mocap provider Image Metrics has appointed Michael Starkenburg to the role of chief operating officer.
Starkenburg has previously worked with the company as a consultant for the past year, but will now be stepping up to the full-time position of guiding operations in the United States and the UK. Starkenburg has also served as a technology partner at venture capital fund the Sprout Group and CTO of Gemstar-TVGuide.
"I wholeheartedly welcome Mike on board to help us grow the company and maximise its immense potential," said Kelvin Duckett, himself recently promoted to executive vice president of Image Metrics.
"Mike's knowledge of structuring companies for accelerated growth dovetails perfectly with my background of running production facilities. I believe our combined forces will be able to push facial animation to a level previously unattainable in the film, TV and games sectors."
