Mark Kingdon joins from digital marketing company Organic Inc
Second Life creator Linden Labs has announced the appointment of online marketing expert Mark Kingdon as its new CEO, reports Reuters.
Kingdon is currently CEO of Organic Inc, a digital marketing agency, and had previously written an article praising the branding opportunities of Second Life that caused several big brands to enter the virtual world.
Writing on the offical Second Life blog, previous CEO and founder of Linden Labs Philip Rosedale said: "He is a person with the rare and unusual combination of business leadership, creativity, and passion for Second Life that we were looking for."
"He will have an intense focus on improving the in-world experience and stability and reliability of Second Life, having extensive hands-on experience with user experience design."
Previous CEO and founder Rosedale announced his intention to step down from the position earlier this year, publicly advertising the desire for a new CEO. He will become chairman of Linden Labs and will remain working for the company full-time on product development and strategy.
