Audio gongs also honour God of War II, Portal

The Game Audio Network Guild's annual awards ceremony ended in a complete victory for 2K Boston and 2K Australia's Bioshock, which won every category for which it was nominated.

The game took home a massive eight of the peer-voted awards, including Best Audio, Best Dialogue, Best Use of Licenced Music and Best Original Instrumental.

"Every now and again life provides one of those great  moments of satisfaction for which words are really inadequate to describe," said Bioshock composer Garry Schymann.

"Being honored by my friends and colleagues at this years G.A.N.G awards was one of those moments.

It was a very moving evening for me and I will always be grateful to G.A.N.G. and everyone who considered my score for BioShock worthy of these honors. I get to look at the trophies everyday now and that is very humbling and amazing."

Other winners at the awards included God of War II, which received two awards, and Portal, which won the Best Original Vocal Song - Pop gong for the now massively memetic ending song Still Alive.

No doubt that BioShock is a great game, but a part of me does wonder if perhaps it's rated a little too highly by some?

I don't know - I did think that the way it integrated old music was really impressive. I didn't think I'd ever hear "How Much is that Doggy in the Window?" in a game, and similarly, I never thought it would fit so well...
