French HQ and new Montreal studio grow, with plans to build new animation engine

French firm Cyanide has been toasting its 2007 successes, with the company revealing that the studios at its HQ and new Montreal base continue to grow - with the latter specifically working on a new 3D animation engine.

Cyanide's Montreal office - called Amusement Cyanide - opened earlier in 2007 and is working on a number of projects.

"The most complex is the development of a dynamic 3D animation engine which integrates physical and biomechanical laws under the control of a powerful artificial intelligence system," said the company.

The studio at the French HQ is, meanwhile, working on upcoming Warhammer-brand adapation Blood Bowl, which will use the new animation engine.

According to a statement released by the studio, the management say the firm has now "cast aside its PC/sport mantle" as it plans for the action/adventure games it produces in future.
