New scheme to deliver development tools to students

Another games development technology company has stepped up to the plate when it comes to supporting education: Emergent has unveiled a new scheme that will give college students hands-on experience and training in its tools and game engine.

The Gamebryo engine is already in place at a handful universities globally, and the growing scheme promises to grant students access to industry speakers and training from studios. The scheme also means that universities could collaborate on projects.

"Emergent is committed to advancing this industry from top to bottom and supporting creativity from its earliest stages,” said Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent.

“With the launch of our Academic Program we are taking one more step to insure we are able to offer game developers the most flexible and comprehensive commercial tools available. As our worldwide footprint rapidly grows we believe it is critical to have great involvement with, and a two way dialogue between, our customers and leading academic institutions.”
