Barcelona-based Gammick already has a DS game contract in the bag
A new games developer called Gammick Entertainment has launched in Barcelona, Spain - and the outfit has a bold ambition to become Spain's most important developer.
Gammick was founded in April but only today confirmed its intentions as a video game production company.
The studio hopes to focus on PC and new generation consoles but has a specific mandate to cover the DS - it has already signed a production deal for a new game for the Nintendo handheld.
It's first DS game is Smasher Z, due out next year, and the team has two other titles for the device in the works.
Gammick is also working on Legend Studios' PC game Shadows of War.
“The Gammick vision is to create a video game production brand that brings together Spanish and international development enterprises emphasising accessible gameplay and attractiveness to casual players,” says Sergio Rincón, managing director of the studio.
“It’s a really exciting challenge for us to create playable concepts that are easy to export and communicate, with fun and profitability as our basic premises.”
