Upcoming Event: 22nd October 2008
AIIDE 2008
Stanford University, California, USA
As AI becomes more and more important in distinguishing great games from good ones, the need for knowledge sharing and networking in the sector becomes more drastic. Step forward the Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment conference...
Taking place at Stanford University in the heart of Silicon Valley, California between October 22nd and 24th, AIIDE covers the application of artificial intelligence to games and entertainment, featuring talks about new developments in the AI field and experiences in deploying AI in commercial products.
"It's an exciting time for entertainment AI," said Michael Mateas, conference chair and researcher at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
"We've seen many recent games succeed thanks to smart gameplay, interesting interactive characters, and lifelike worlds. AI is at the core of bringing all these elements to life, and AIIDE is where many of these new AI approaches are first presented, and where existing techniques are explored in depth."
