Game Connect: Asia Pacific 2008
Brisbane, Australia
The chief Asia Pacific game development conference returns for another year of talks, panels, exhibitions and networking...
Let's face it, a good part of the reason for many going to game dev conferences is enjoying the sunny climate of foreign locales while under the pretense of working. So when better to escape to Australia than November, when the country is experiencing some of its best weather and ours some of its worst?
Taking place at the Hilton Hotel Brisbane in Brisbane, Australia from November 19th to 22nd, the conference is targeted at professionals in the games, IT, interactive entertainment, film and sound industries, and will cover topics such as online, mobile, serious and casual games.
The GDAA will be accepting talk submissions until June 6th, and says it is looking for talks in the fields of game development; writing and scripting; project management; serious games in defence, health, education and simulation; business modelling and marketing; finance and investment; and skills and recruitment.
"The new and game developer and publisher focused GCAP 08 program will address topics and trends of the Asia Pacific game industry," said Greg Bondar, chairman of GCAP 08 and CEO of the GDAA.
Also taking place alongside the conference is the Games Trade Display, Australia's main games industry exhibition.
