The Texan GDC returns for its difficult second year, although given the success of the first there’s little doubt it’ll be a busy couple of days. No details for this year’s version have been announced, but if it follows on from last year’s lead expect a large focus on massively multiplayer games (last year’s event featured keynotes from Final Fantasy XI producer Hiromichi Tanaka and Blizzard president Mike Morhaime) and the art of game writing.

But aside from the no-doubt stellar line-up of speakers and industry stars, don’t forget all those parties and other opportunities to network and gather those all-important contacts. But it’s not all work – don’t forget to enjoy the late-summer Texan sun and copious amounts of Mexican food while you’re there.
